Setting up a trading relationship helps Tradex to correctly route the documents from a sender to a receiver. To set up the trading relationship, you must configure Tradex to ensure that the sender of an incoming batch is identified, and the recipients are determined. Tradex also needs to know what type of documents is being sent to it so that it can utilise the correct mapping.
For a working trading relationship to be set up, information is required separately from both the sender and the receiver. Tradex uses an ‘invitation’ system because of this kind of setup and it operates in the following manner:
1. Sender (or receiver) sets up their side of the Trading Relationship which will result in an invitation being sent as an e-mail to the receiver (or sender) to complete their side of the relationship
2. The other party completes their side and the trading relationship is then ready to be operational from the date specified.
3. The trading relationships displayed in Tradex give the user an easy view of relationships that are fully completed and those 'invitations' that are still waiting to be completed by the other party.
Note: While creating trading relationships, only those companies that are managed by the trading partners will be displayed for selection, and not all trading partners in the system.
