Configuring Desktop Shortcut Icons

You can create new desktop shortcut icons for menu items and links if by selecting the required icons from the list configured by the system administrator in the font manager. These shortcut icons can be selected to appear on the home page to provide easy access to commonly used functions.

To configure the desktop shortcut icons, perform the following steps:

1.     Click Configuration > Desktop shortcut icons from the Administration tab.

 A list of already configured shortcut icons is displayed on the Desktop shortcut definitions - list page.

2.     Click the New button at the top right of the page. to configure a new shortcut icon for a label or menu item.

The Desktop shortcut definitions - Create page is displayed.

3.     Enter a name for the label for which you are creating a shortcut icon in the Label field.

4.     Enter a brief description of the shortcut in the Help box.

5.     Select URL or Menu item in Link type.

6.     Enter the link if you have selected Link in the previous step.  Select the menu path from the Link drop-down list if you have selected Menu item in the previous step.

7.     Select t the icon for the shortcut from the list displayed next to the Icon field.

8.     Click Save.

The configured shortcut icon is displayed on the Desktop shortcut definitions - Create page.
