Revit is an BIM based application developed by Autodesk®. The native format for a Revit model is an rvt file but this can be exported as a dwf or dwfx format file.
CADMeasure BIM has been developed to read these files which contain not only line work but also embedded property data from the model objects.
The following information should be passed to the originator of the Revit model:
To create a dwf/dwfx file from a Revit rvt model, perform the following steps:
1. Within Revit, with the model open, select a 3D view - This is vital to ensure CADMeasure BIM gets all the available data.
2. Select File > Export > DWF/DWFX
3. Save the file
This can then be forwarded to the CADMeasure BIM user.
To attach a dwf/dwfx file for measurement, perform the following steps:
1. Start up CADMeasure BIM. A new session using the last template used is started automatically.
2. Open a dwf/dwfx file to be measured (File Pulldown Menu > Open dwf).
3. Save the session as a .cmx file (File Pulldown Menu > Save Session As).
4. Create measurements.
For more information on using dwf files, see The Process of Creating a Measurement Session
