Starting with the v19.6 release, caching mechanism is implemented when you open Revit drawings in BIMMeasure. When a Revit drawing has multi-views, the caching mechanism allows you to load the views quickly on demand. The cache files are stored in the HSF format file (.hsf) and "_rvt" is appended to the file name and saved under the same location where Revit drawing is located. For example, if the BeSpoke.rvt file is opened in BIMMeasure, the BeSpoke_rvt.hsf file is created under the same location where the BeSpoke.rvt file is located.
Note: Starting with the v19.6 release, BIMMeasure supports Revit 2019 drawings.
When you open a Revit model in BIMMeasure, you need to note the following:
· You need to select a view from the Model Contents tree to load a view dynamically.
· If you had updated a Revit drawing outside BIMMeasure, use the Revise Drawing menu option. right-click the view and select Refresh to update it. For more information on revising a drawing, see Revising an Open Drawing/Image file.
Note: If you are unable to revise a Revit drawing, delete the corresponding cache files. For more information, see Deleting Cache Files.
· If you open a Revit drawing and view or work on a view, the cache for the views that you viewed or worked with is created. If you close the drawing and open it next time in BIMMeasure, the last opened view is displayed.
· If a view of the Revit drawing was opened in BIMMeasure earlier, the corresponding view will be opened from the cache file.
· If a view of the Revit drawing has not been cached before, the corresponding view will be opened using the interactive import and the view will be appended to the cached views present in the cached file for subsequent loads.
When you update a Revit drawing or if a Revit drawing had failed to open successfully in BIMMeasure, you need to delete the corresponding cache files (.hsf files).
