Irregular Area

An Irregular Area measures the area contained within numerous digitised vertices.  They can be linked by straight lines or arcs.

1.     Ensure the appropriate Object Snaps are on

2.     Start the Command

3.     Pick the first point

4.     Pick the second and subsequent points

A rubber band effect fill will be displayed as the points are picked to select the area defined.

 

5.     At the Penultimate point press the Enter key to close the measurement back to the start point..

6.     The total area will be saved as a measurement, with a fill defined by the selected Display Style.

7.     Enter a note if appropriate

The measurement will appear graphically on screen and in the measurements window with the relevant number.

Measure an Arc Segment

To measure an Arc segment:

1.     Ensure the appropriate Object Snaps are on

2.     Start the Command

3.     Pick the first point

4.     Pick the second and subsequent points

5.     At the start of the arc, type 'A' (for Arc) then press the Enter key.

6.     Using the Near point Object Snap, pick near the midpoint of the Arc

7.     Pick the End point of the arc

 

The mode returns automatically to straight line

8.     Pick subsequent points as necessary

The measurement will appear graphically on screen and in the measurements window with the relevant number.
